REP 2008/2009 Season and Audition Information

The Raleigh Ensemble Players Theatre Company is seeking a diverse group of 15-20 artists (actors, musicians/vocalists, dancers, designers) to serve as the core of its 08/09 Ensemble.  Members of the 08/09 Ensemble will be expected to perform in and/or technically support each of REP’s productions.  As of this posting*, production windows are scheduled as follows:

Production #1      

Location: Artspace

Run: October 9 through 25

Tentative Remount: November 15 through 25

Rehearsals begin: August 25

Production #2       

 A potential repertory situation--2 to 3 different shows rotating over 4 week period

Location: Artspace

Run: April 16 through May 10

[Important: tech rehearsals begin April 12 (Easter Sunday)]

Rehearsals begin: As early as January 5, 2009 (each show would rehearse for separate 4 to 5 week periods; all pieces come together early April)

• Example:
  • Show 1: rehearse January 5 through January 31 [some pick-up rehearsals in Feb/Mar]
  • Show 2: rehearse February 2 through February 27[some pick-up rehearsals in Mar]
  • Show 3: rehearse March 2 through April 3 [no rehearsal March 16 through 22] and March 23 through 29
  • All Shows: rehearse March 30 through April 9

*Finalized production windows, locations, and titles will be confirmed/announced at the auditions.

Once the 08/09 Ensemble is cast and roles are determined, any remaining production/performance openings will be filled on a show-by-show basis from outside the Ensemble.

What Do I Need to Do?

Artists should plan to be present for the entire session and will participate in the following activities:

• A group movement combination
• A group vocal/singing activity
• Individual monologue sharing
  • Participants should prepare two pieces from Mary Zimmerman’s METAMORPHOSES
  • Call or email the REP Office for details on how to receive the required pieces

Headshots and resumes are not required of Anniversary Ensemble members.  Artists new to REP should bring a copy of a current resume.  A photo will be taken of each participant during the audition.
